The MicroZ-CGRS process signals from the GPS satellite constellation and compute real-time position, velocity, and time measurements. Twelve dedicated separate and parallel channels extract Coarse/Acquisition (C/A) code-phase and carrier-phase measurements on the L1 (1575 MHz) band, and Precise (P) code-phase and carrier phase measurements on the L1 and L2 (1227 MHz) bands. The MicroZ-CGRS receivers acquire satellite signals via an L band antenna and low-noise amplifier (LNA). The receiver can simultaneously operate as a stand-alone reference station recording data or outputting raw measurement data, and as a real-time base station broadcasting either code phase DGPS corrections and/or real-time kinematic (RTK) corrections transmitting carrier phase data across a data link to a rover receiver. The receivers comply with the RTCM SC104 v2.3 standard for differential DGPS and RTK operation. These features allow the MicroZ-CGRS and iCGRS receivers to be compatible for differential DGPS and RTK operation with any other receiver that implements the RTCM standard. The Internet-enabled MicroZ-iCGRS receiver also contains an embedded PC and an Ethernet port. The embedded PC (EPC) removes the need for a co-located PC connected to the receiver via a serial port and provides direct Internet access for receiver configuration, status monitoring and file management. With a direct connection to the Internet, the iCGRS is also able to download data from the receiver via an FTP server on a specified schedule or stream raw or data or RTCM messages in real time. The receiver acts as a server or client with its own IP address, and the user will be able to configure the receiver, check the receiver status or to request data by accessing a series of web pages on the EPC. These web pages are accessed using any standard Internet browser. With the proper post-processing software and methodology, millimeter level positioning accuracy and repeatability with Ashtech Reference Station receivers is claimed by such organization as the Southern California Integrated GPS Network and the International GPS Service.
